This is one of four separate solar powered kiosk sign elements installed around the 45 degr. Central development during the opening phases of construction. The idea was to provide directional signage inside the development in areas without power to direct traffic into the model home. The cedar framework supported a custom-designed, double-sided, metal sign box with solar-powered LED interior illumination. The construction and design turned out great, but the attempt at solar didn’t quite live up to our expectations: state of the art, LED illumination or not, as you can see it turned out great, looked very cool and did work well in the beginning, but I’m just not sure the industry hype or quality of components was up to the humidity and rigors of a Pacific NW winter.
